On 17 January 2022, Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia, Andrius Kalindra, met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili.
On 13 January members of the Lithuanian community, their family members and friends commemorated the Freedom Defenders' Day in the Vilnius Square, Tbilisi, honoring their memory, efforts and symbolically lighting 14 candles of remembrance to those who paid their lives for the Free and Independent Lithuanian state.
On Saturday, 15 January, the Lithuanian community was also invited to go through a special 9km symbolic route in Tbilisi – from Vilnius Square to Tbilisi TV Tower. This route assimilates “On the Path of Life and Death” traditionally run in Lithuanian capital Vilnius to commemorate victims of 13 January 1991 events.
Registration for submitting visa applications for the month of February will start on January 24
The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia would like to inform that the registration for submitting visa applications for the month of February will start on Monday, 24 January via e-mail: [email protected] and take place in the Embassy's working hours (starting at 08:30 in the morning). E-mails sent for registration before the indicated time will not participate in the registration process.
Applicants will need to send their name, surname, purpose of travel and request for appointment to the aforementioned e-mail.
Please note that only one person can be registered by sending one e-mail and it is recommended for the applicants to address the Embassy for registration by e-mail themselves. You will receive response to your request for registration within 1-2 weeks from the registration date (will depend on the number of e-mails received. Also, those who will be registered in the beginning of February will be the first to receive the confirmation e-mails in days following the registration date)
On 3 December 2021, Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia, Andrius Kalindra, visited Dusheti and held a meeting with the recently elected Mayor of Dusheti, Ms. Manana Narimanidze.
On November 26, Lithuanian Armed Forces Day was marked in Amirani cinema, in Tbilisi. Members of Georgian Armed Forces, state institutions and international community participated in the event together with soldiers of the Lithuanian Army School of the Division General Stasys Raštikis and officers from the headquarters of the LITPOLUKRBRIG who are currently participating in international military exercise ‘Mapple Arch 2021’.
The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia would like to inform that due to the large number of e-mails received for the visa applications in December, it was decided to continue the registration process for the month of January as well.
Those who wrote to us about registration and failed to register in December will register in January.
Therefore at this stage all the available places in December and January are fully filled.

On 19 November, Deputy Foreign Minister Mantas Adomėnas met with Eka Gigauri, Director of the Georgian Branch of Transparency International, Nino Dolidze, Director of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), and Giorgi Burjanadze, Deputy Ombudsman of Georgia.
Following Georgia’s request for assistance, as well as seeking to contribute to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and to eliminate its effects, the Government has made a decision to donate 50,310 doses of Comirnaty vaccine manufactured by Pfizer, Inc. in humanitarian aid to Georgia.
European Union delegation in Tbilisi has informed last week that Lithuania as a junior partner has won EU’s Twinning project "Support for the development of a comprehensive road safety database and further improvement of road safety management in Georgia’’ together with Poland.

Interdisciplinary scientific conference 'Cultural ties between Lithuania and Georgia' took place in Georgian Technical University Lithuanian language and culture center on the 8-9th of November, using a hybrid type of presentations.
On 29-31 October, Members of the Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania Mr. Audronius Ažubalis and Mr. Kęstutis Masiulis visited Georgia to observe the second rounds of the Municipal Elections of Georgia 2021 in major Georgian cities, where elections runoffs took place.
On October 19-21, Vida Montvydaitė, Director of the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, and a delegation of N. Genytė's care home, led by Director Vytautas Vigelis, visited Tbilisi. N. Genytė's care home located in Pabradė has accumulated a lot of experience in transforming the institutional care model into a family type and is ready to share its experience with Georgian care institutions.
On 1 October 2021, the delegation from the Seimas (Parliament) of the Republic of Lithuania, visiting Georgia to observe the Municipal Elections of 2 October 2021, held meetings at the Parliament of Georgia, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia, Mr. Andrius Kalindra.
The delegation met with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. Nikoloz Samkharadze and the Chairperson of the European Integration Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Ms. Maka Botchorishvili, who is also the Chairperson of the Georgian-Lithuanian Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Parliament of Georgia.
