Ambassador Andrius Kalindra Met the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia
Yesterday Ambassador Andrius Kalindra held an introductory meeting with the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Mr. Ruslan Abashidze.
The Discussion between the Ambassador and Chairman covered the issues of Abkhazia’s cultural and religious heritage, as well as the necessity of the availability of education in native languages in Abkhazia. Ambassador Kalindra received information about the current situation in Abkhazia in these regards.
The Ambassador and Chairman also spoke about the efforts of the Government of Georgia to assist the occupied territories in battling Covid 19. Ambassador expressed his hope that the Geneva International Discussions, the next round of which is to be held in the middle of December, will remain a format that will help bolster confidence between its participants.
Andrius Kalindra once again affirmed Lithuania’s unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
