Ambassador Andrius Kalindra Visited Georgian Public Broadcaster
Today Ambassador Andrius Kalindra visited Georgian Public Broadcaster and held an introductory meeting with the Director-General, Ms. Tina Berdzenishvili.
The discussion focused on the importance of public broadcasting companies as institutions in democratic states, cooperation between Lithuanian and Georgian Public Broadcasters and the strengthening of partnership between our Embassy and the 1st channel.
“Lithuanian Public Broadcaster will cooperate with the Georgian First Channel. We explored ways to better introduce Georgians and Lithuanians to each other. I understand the public broadcaster’s role when it comes to discussions between different members of society. It is important to support broadcasters as a mission that can bring different perspectives to the audience,” Ambassador Kalindra stated.
Strong friendly relations between the two nations were also discussed, with the emphasis on shared historical experience leading up and after the independence, as well as historical memory.
