Today ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia Jonas Paslauskas visited the emergency center of Georgia in Tbilisi and met with the participants of a rescue training course.  

The group of residents from Jvari town, Tsalenjika municipality (Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region in western Georgia) learned how to act in critical situations. As they are going to work as local guides in the mountainous area, they needed to obtain life-saving knowledge and experience of evacuation.

This training is a part of broader project, which aims to develop tourism potential of Tsalenjika municipality. It includes the training of local guides, marking of hiking trails, updating maps, the development of small-scale information infrastructure (information boards, signs, etc.). The goal of the project is to promote local economical activity and enhance the region's attractiveness to both local and foreign guests.
