Ambassador visited Dusheti Municipality
On March 25, 2021, Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia, Andrius Kalindra, visited Dusheti Municipality and held the meeting with the Mayor of Dusheti, Zurab Sekhniashvili.
Cooperation between the Embassy of Lithuania and Dusheti Municipality already counts several years. Dusheti has hosted a number of Lithuanian cultural events, including photo exhibitions, paintings, concerts and creative workshops. This summer, it is envisaged to have a Lithuanian folk concert in Dusheti. It is certainly worth mentioning that Dusheti also hosts a Lithuanian Cultural Center established in 2017. Cooperation between the Embassy and Dusheti Municipality is set to gradually move further forward.
Lithuania has implemented several development cooperation projects in Dusheti Municipality, most notable of which concerns the IDP village of Prezeti, which had its cultural center and kindergarten powered by renewable solar energy panels installed by Lithuanian companies, with support from Lithuanian government institutions. Another project also covered the installation of solar power grids in IDP villages outside Dusheti as well.
Dusheti has friendship and cooperation memoranda with Lithuanian cities of Šakiai and Prienai, covering fields such as culture, education, sports, business, tourism and more.
