Ambassador visited Kutaisi and held meetings with local authorities and cultural circles

On March 30, 2022, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, Andrius Kalindra, visited Kutaisi and held introductory meetings with the Mayor of Kutaisi, Mr. Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, the State Representative in the Imereti Region, Zviad Shalamberidze, as well as the leadership of Kutaisi Museum and Drama Theater and the acting Rector of the Akaki Tsereteli State University.

During the meeting with Mr. Mayor and the Governor, the issues of past and future cooperation between the Republic of Lithuania and the Kutaisi authorities were discussed, as well as the activities of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Imereti region, especially in Kutaisi, where the embassy has implemented many successful projects.

Together with the representatives of the cultural sphere, the Ambassador talked about the further intensification of the Embassy's cultural projects in Imereti and specifically in Kutaisi, as well as discussing the priority directions of cooperation. Ambassador Andrius Kalindra expressed gratitude for the continued support of the Embassy's initiatives, which has been felt over the years from both the local government of Kutaisi and the representatives of the cultural sphere there.

The Acting Rector of Akaki Tsereteli State University discussed the close Lithuanian-Georgian cooperation in the field of education, active exchange programs and the impressive number of Georgian students in Lithuanian universities, both within the framework of exchange programs and full-scale programs.
