An Open-air Silent Film Festival was held in Tbilisi on September 13-14

An open-air Silent Film Festival was held in Tbilisi on September 13-14 at Rose Revolution Square by the Embassy of Lithuania to Georgia. The festival has become one of many events dedicated to Lithuania’s EU Council Presidency 2013. While delivering his speech, Ambassador of the Republic Lithuania to Georgia Mr. Jonas Paslauskas emphasized the importance of cooperation between the artists of the EU and Eastern Partnership countries.  The event was also attended by the Vice-Mayer of Tbilisi Mrs. Sevdia Ugrekhelidze. Silent movies were improvised by the musicians from Eastern Partnership countries – Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Movies “My Grandmother” (1929) and “Eliso” (1928) deserved audience’s great attention.
