Commemorating the 13 January 1991 Vilnius events in Georgia: we remember why we are free

On 13 January members of the Lithuanian community, their family members and friends commemorated the Freedom Defenders' Day in the Vilnius Square, Tbilisi, honoring their memory, efforts and symbolically lighting 14 candles of remembrance to those who paid their lives for the Free and Independent Lithuanian state.

On Saturday, 15 January, the Lithuanian community was also invited to go through a special 9km symbolic route in Tbilisi – from Vilnius Square to Tbilisi TV Tower. This route assimilates “On the Path of Life and Death” traditionally run in Lithuanian capital Vilnius to commemorate victims of 13 January 1991 events.
