Cultural ties between Lithuania and Georgia are being strengthened

Interdisciplinary scientific conference 'Cultural ties between Lithuania and Georgia' took place in Georgian Technical University Lithuanian language and culture center on the 8-9th of November, using a hybrid type of presentations.

Mrs. Diana Nausėdienė who is a supporter of Lithuanian education around the world welcomed participants. While remembering her visit in the Lithuanian Language and Culture Center this June she emphasized the meaning of language preservation and importance of cultural exchange while developing bilateral intercultural dialogue.

Deputy Chair of the Committee on Education and Science of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Prof. Dr. Habil. Vilija Targamadze while greeting guests of the conference expressed her gratitude to the Center and Ministry of Education, Science and Sport for sincere attention and initiatives that encourage bilateral exchange.

An exceptional role in strengthening cultural ties between Georgia and Lithuania and supporting youth exchange belongs to the Lithuanian language and culture center in Georgian Technical University. 'I want to express great respect and gratitude for the activities of the Center and its support to bilateral cultural exchange to the Head of the Center prof. dr. Vidas Kavaliauskas and Rector of the Georgian Technical University prof. dr. David Gurgenidze',- said Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia Mr. Andrius Kalindra.

During the event, representatives of the academic and civil society of Lithuania and Georgia made presentations on historical cultural ties, the opportunities provided by studying Lithuanian and Georgian languages in universities of both countries, shared their experience in developing cultural literacy and emphasized the importance of academic exchange.
