EuroBasket 2011 Draw Will Take Place On January 30th

The draw of the 2011 European Men's Basketball Championship (EuroBasket 2011) will take place in Vilnius on January 30th, at 7:30 pm local time. The draw will divide the participants into four groups, as well as determine in which city of Lithuania a particular team will be playing. The drawing ceremony will be held at the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre and will host a variety of Lithuanian TV stars and other prominent figures. The entertainment part of the ceremony will last 34 minutes, during which 136 artists will present 25 countries participating in the championship.

Georgia will be presented by a pop-singer Stanislovas Stavickis-Stano and a multi-national choir.

Arvydas Sabonis, Modestas Paulauskas, Alexander Volkov and other legendary stars of European basketball will attend the ceremony, together with more than 200 foreign guests and international journalists.

The 2011 men's basketball championship, held in Lithuania, will be the largest in European history. 24 teams will be competing for the gold medal and the “ticket” to the Olympics. Six cities in Lithuania will host 90 matches during August 31 - September 18, 2011.

The championship will be broadcast to more than 150 countries and will be accessible to more than 180 million TV viewers around the world.
