Evelina Sašenko: "Thank you, Georgians, for supporting us!"
After the final concert of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, where she took 19th place, Lithuania’s representative Evelina Sašenko was quiet and sad that the contest was over, but happy that soon she will go home.A largest Lithuanian daily lrytas.lt publishes an interview with Sašenko about how she feels after the Eurovision finals, as well as how she evaluates her performance results (the full version of the article in Lithuanian is available here).
- How do you feel after the final concert of the 2011 Eurovision?
- Once the voting results were announced, I realized that the festival is coming to an end.
- Until then, did you want the show to go on?
- Usually you want it to end, but when it ends you are sad it is over. Now that I realize tomorrow I will have to board the flight and will not need to go to the rehearsal, of course I am a little bit sad.
- You were the fourth to perform on the stage, so you had to watch the rest of the concert from the backstage. Were you nervous while waiting for the final results? Were you waiting for them at all?
- Of course I was waiting for the final results. I always wait for them. I am a fighter by nature, so I need this. But I am happy I was performing at the beginning of the show, so there was no need to be nervous later on. I sang my song and could calm down for the rest of the concert.
- When the voting results started to come out, what kind of thoughts were revolving in your mind?
- The dominating one was: "This country is not going give us any points," “This country may give some...” No, I really was not thinking about anything else, I was just waiting for the final results, and that’s it.

- Sure, I was very happy. It is great that those countries have supported us.
- Are you satisfied with your performance?
- I'm happy with my performance. Of course, I have not seen the record yet, so I don't know the details. But on the stage I felt myself perfect, and my voice was as strong as never before.
