Exhibition "Vilnius 700" was opened in Tbilisi
On May 25 the exhibition "Vilnius 700" was opened in the "Baia" gallery during the Tbilisi Photography Biennale to commemorate the Georgian Photography Day and the 700th birthday of Vilnius.
Since the theme of this year's biennale is "birth - 19th century", the exhibition presents historical images of Vilnius photographed by Juozapas Čechavičius, Stanislav Filibert Fleury and Jan Bulkhak, which give an opportunity to see how the city and its inhabitants looked in the past. Opening the exhibition Ambassador Andrius Kalindra reminded the audience about the 700th birthday of the city of Vilnius, which is celebrated this year and was happy about the successful cultural cooperation and the opportunity given to the public of Georgia to see the historical images of the capital of Lithuania.
The exhibition will be open from May 25 to 29.
The exhibition was organized in cooperation with the Georgian Photography Association and the Lithuanian National Museum.
