  A famous television journalist Edita Mildažytė of Lithuania was awarded Georgia’s Presidential Order of Excellence. The host of a popular TV show “Buy My Trouble” was honored for her charitable work and the initiative to help the IDP children of Georgia.

Two of the children who have already received financial assistance participated in the awards ceremony at the Presidential Palace this Wednesday.

“This order belongs to all Lithuanian people, who donated generously during the charity concert “Lithuania - Georgia. One Heart” last May. I want to thank them all once again,” Mildažytė has said.

Last year, under Mildažytė’s initiative, Lithuanian National Television and Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a charity concert “Lithuania - Georgia. One Heart” to support the 2008 August War victims in Georgia. During the four-hour broadcast, Lithuanian people donated nearly LTL 250,000 ($100,000) for the needs of IDP children. 230 of them have already received medical treatment and hundreds will receive it in the near future.
