Today our Ambassador met with a Georgian poet, Mr. Giorgi Lobzhanidze, whose book of poetry entitled Šventofobija was named among the top 15 of Lithuania’s poetry books in 2020, which represents a notable recognition of contemporary Georgian poetry.
Ambassador congratulated Mr. Lobzhanidze on this success and thanked him for the contribution to bringing Lithuania and Georgia even closer through his work. The discussion also covered the role of poetry and art in general in relations between peoples. Should the pandemic-related circumstances allow for it, Mr. Lobzhanidze is expected to take part in the biggest and most important book fair in the Baltic States - International Vilnius Book Fair 2021 that is due to take place on 5-6 May 2021.
Ms. Nana Devidze, an experienced and accomplished translator between Lithuanian and Georgian languages, also participated in the meeting. Ms. Devidze also contributed to translating Mr. Lobzhanidze’s book in Lithuanian.
