In Tbilisi was held the event dedicated to the opening of Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the EU
Lithuanian Statehood Day and the opening of Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union was held on the 5th of July in Tbilisi National History Museum “Karvasla”. During the event the Exhibition of Lithuanian Photography (1960-2012) "Everyday Life: Dialogues ofGenerations" was opened.
The event was attended by the top officials of Georgia as well as the representatives of diplomatic corps in Georgia, members of the Parliament, famous photographers from Lithuania and Georgia.
The event draw media attention and was broadcasted through the country’s national TV channels.
The exhibition "Everyday Life: Dialogues of Generations" represented visual overview of Lithuania’s daily life which spotlight new things and issues over the past century. During this time three generations of photographers were formed with their exceptional topics and drafting, but always highlihting the issues of the time. Different authors draw their attention to different aspect of Lithuania’s daily life and presented it in a different visual way.
Political events, ideology and economic situation had an impact on everyday life, the habits have significantly changed over the last fifty years, as well as the artistic expression. But the Human and the Environment has remained the most important aspects for the photographers.
The exhibition was organized by Lithuania’s Photographer Union in Kaunas. The pictures of Antanas Sutkus, Algimantas Kunčius, Aleksandras Macijauskas, Ramualdas Rakauskas, Ramualdas Pežerkis, Vitis Luckus, Algimantas Šeškus, Arturas Viliaugas, Gintaras Česonis, Mindaugas Kavaliauskas, Mindaugas Ažubalis, Donatas Statkevičius were exposed.
The exhibition will last until August 20.
