Information regarding Covid-19 restrictions in Georgia

Starting from 1 February 2021, restrictions on entry to Georgia for foreign citizens and some Covid-19 restrictions within the country have been partially lifted.

From 1 February 2021, foreign nationals visiting Georgia will be unconditionally admitted to the country if a document is presented at the border to evidence that a COVID vaccine of any type has been administered in full spectrum involving two complete dozes.

Citizens and residence permit holders of the following states may enter Georgia by air if they present a negative PCR test result taken within the past 72 hours and get a repeated PCR test at their own expense on the third day from their entry to Georgia:

  • European Union Member States
  • State of Israel
  • Swiss Confederation
  • Kingdom of Norway
  • United States of America
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
  • Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • State of Qatar
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Kingdom of Bahrein
  • Republic of Turkey

From 1 February 2021, Government of Georgia has decided to gradually lift the Covid-19 restrictions within the country. From this day onwards, operation of municipal transport, schools, shops and malls will resume in Batumi, Zugdidi, Gori, Poti and Telavi. In Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Rustavi operation of schools, shops and malls will resume from 15 February while operation of municipal transport will resume from 8 February. Open and closed markets in all cities of the country will resume operation from 8 February. From 1  February, in Adjara customers will be allowed to open spaces of eateries while in the rest of the country customers will be allowed to open spaces of eateries from 15 February. Kindergartens will resume operation, along with vocational training and higher education institutions as currently intended from March 1, 2021 and students will thus be allowed to auditoriums.
