Today Lithuania celebrates the Independence Day (official name - Lithuanian State Restoration Day).On 16 February 1918, after long years of political struggle, the State Council of Lithuania declared "restoration of independent, democratically organized Lithuanian State with Vilnius as its capital."

The Embassy of Lithuania takes this opportunity to congratulate Lithuanians living in Georgia, as well as Lithuania's Georgian friends, with the Independence Day!

The calendar of the festive events in Lithuania is available here (in Lithuanian).

We also kindly remind the visitors that the Embassy will be closed today.
