Lithuanian Embassy in Georgia Launches an Updated Website
The Embassy of Lithuania in Georgia launches an updated version of its original website. One of key novelties is a webpage in Georgian.“The Embassy has been repeatedly convinced that the main interest of the Georgian population is information on how to get the Schengen visa, what documents should be produced and where they need to be delivered,” says Lithuanian Ambassador to Georgia Jonas Paslauskas.
The Georgian page of the updated website focuses primarily on consular information. Visitors are invited, in a clear and easily accessible form, to fill in their visa applications electronically.
The second novelty concerns the accessibility issue. From now on, the visitors will be able to reach the Embassy’s website through a parallel domain, www.litva.ge. Visitors of this domain will be immediately redirected to the Embassy’s website, where they will be able to choose a preferred language for browsing.
The Embassy hopes this innovation will make the consular section’s work more efficient and, accordingly, will increase the number of Georgians choosing to fill in visa application form electronically.
Lithuanian Embassy of in Georgia is the only Lithuanian diplomatic mission in the South Caucasus which has introduced an electronic visa application processing system, KIRIS. Thanks to this system, about 90 percent of all visa applications that now reach the Embassy are filled in electronically.
Thirdly, new features have been added to the Embassy’s website, such as a section on Lithuanian-Georgian bilateral relations, as well as regularly updated “Information for Entrepreneurs.”
The Embassy’s updated website can be reached at ge.mfa.lt or simply by typing litva.ge.
