Lithuanian pre-school opened in Georgia
On this weekend Lithuanian pre-school opened it's doors in Tbilisi. An idea to organize such pre-school belongs to Lithuanians living in Georgia, who got together in the end of last year and established the Lithuanian Youth Organization in Georgia "Labas" (in English - “Hello”).
"For children it is not enough to hear their native language only in their families. It is important to strengthen further their knowledge of Lithuanian, introduce to our culture and traditions at the very young age. From now on our youngest ones will have a possibility to meet other Lithuanians during playful lessons. It would help the parents to share their experiences and most important – will strengthen the bonds within the whole Lithuanian community" – said Ms. Vitalija Papaitė- Basilaia, Chairman of the Lithuanian Youth Organization in Georgia "Labas".

"We see that the parents are interested in the activities of the preschool. During these lessons some children will get their first introduction to Lithuanian language, songs and dances" – said the manager of the project stated V. Balkunaite-Babic after the first lesson.
