Meeting with the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia to discuss Georgia‘s integration in the EU and NATO
On 18 May, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia Andrius Kalindra met with Archil Talakvadze, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia. The meeting discussed aspects of deepening bilateral cooperation, exchanging views on the role of parliament in initiating the necessary reforms for the country's European and Euro-Atlantic future. The conversation highlighted the role of all parliamentary parties in implementing the agreement reached with the mediation of the President of the European Council in order to end the protracted political uncertainty. It was emphasized that special attention should be paid to the implementation of the justice and electoral reforms provided for in the agreement. The Ambassador also expressed support for Georgia's aspirations for membership of the European Union and NATO and the implementation of the obligations provided for in the EU-Georgia Association Agreement in order to achieve these goals.
