Minister of Foreign Affairs will visit Georgia together with colleagues from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Latvia and Romania

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Audronius Ažubalis together with Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Latvia and Romania will visit together Georgia on the 17th September in order to express their support to Georgia’s European and Euro-atlantic integration. Ministers will meet the leadership of Georgia, opposition parties and the representatives of non-governmental organizations.

Ministers plan to discuss during these meetings the preparation for the Parliamentary elections that will be conducted on the 1st of October 2012. These elections are in the focus of international community. It is planned that they will be monitored by the record number of international observers. According to the preliminary information, around two thousand international observers from various organizations will be represented. Lithuania also attaches a great importance to these elections and is sending 26 observers.

It is also planned to visit the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia, which implements the stabilization and confidence-building role in order to mitigate the consequences of the conflict in 2008.
