Ambassador of Lithuania Jonas Paslauskas visited Ajara and participated in NATO events.
Residents and guests of Kobuleti gathered in a cinema theater for a review of a documentary movie "NATO chronicles". This theater was reconstructed using Lithuania's development cooperation funds.
Ambassador of Lithuania met with local people and presented the key issues on NATO's agenda.
Later Ambassador J. Paslauskas met at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University with the students and representatives of NGOs and gave a lecture on the relations between NATO and Georgia.

During a public debate participants of the event were actively interested in Georgia’s opportunities to become a member of NATO, and discussed the possible “recipes” of such membership.
“All members of the Alliance are making a decision regarding new NATO member unanimously. Therefore, Georgia should expand the circle of its friends and supporters. One way of doing this is to continue active participation in international operations and to implement seriously the tasks. Second, Georgia must continue reforms and be able to prove that it is not only Georgia that needs NATO, but that Alliance also needs Georgia "- stated J. Paslauskas.
Since the beginning of this year Embassy of Lithuania is acting as a NATO contact point Embassy (CPE) in Georgia. One of the key tasks of the Embassy is to inform the public about NATO, its objectives and activities.
