NATO workshop for the representatives of the municipalities

On 21-22 June representatives of different municipalities of Georgia were invited to a NATO workshop in Tbilisi. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, which acts as a NATO contact point Embassy in Georgia, together with a NATO Liaison Office and International Centre for Geopolitical Studies (ICGS). Lectures were delivered by H.E. Jonas Paslauskas (Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia), Mr. Linas Linkevičius (Ambassador-at-large, public consultant of the Prime Minister of Lithuania), Mr. James Mackey (NATO HQ).  

Linas Linkevičius shared the experiences of Lithuania after joining the Alliance, and indicated some peculiarities of work in Brussels. The participants of the workshop also discussed the results of NATO Summit in Chicago.   

Ambassador Jonas Paslauskas told about the activities of a NATO contact point Embassy in Georgia with specific focus to the events organized in different regions of the country.   

Participants of the workshop were introduced to the main NATO institutions, goals and methods of this organization. They could also get more information about preparation of projecs for NATO funding. Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania
