One of Georgia’s Town Squares Will Be Reconstructed after a Project by Lithuanian Students
The main town square of Khashuri (Central Georgia) will be reconstructed after a project developed by the students of Kaunas University of Technology, the authorities of Khashuri have announced at a meeting with Lithuanian Ambassador to Georgia Jonas Paslauskas this Thursday.
At the meeting, Ambassador Paslauskas presented thirteen project concepts, developed by the third-year students of the Department of Architecture and Land Management at Kaunas University of Technology. All the concepts address the most topical problems of the Khashuri town square and provide their visual solutions.
“During my frequent visits to Khashuri, I have heard the question as to what could be done with the abandoned main square of the city. Hence the idea to invite Lithuanian experts to prepare a few sketches. Frankly speaking, I could not have expected that so many interesting solutions will be proposed,” Ambassador Paslauskas said after the meeting.
“The project concepts proposed by Lithuanian Embassy have exceeded all our expectations. Hardly had we ventured to go that far in our imagination, if we had to draw these sketches ourselves. The courage and creativity of Lithuanian young architects is just striking,” noted Head of Khashuri Municipality Mamuka Mosiashvili.
All the works of the Kaunas University of Technology students will be exhibited in the premises of
