On June 6, the photo exhibition “Lithuania–Georgia” was opened at the Gori Art Center ‘Art House’.
The exhibition features photographs by four talented artists – Tadas Kazakevičius, Artūras Morozovas, Mariam Abshilava, and Tinatin Kiguradze. The Lithuanian photographers captured scenes in Georgia, while the Georgian photographers took their photos in Lithuania – each offering their unique perspective on the subject, object, or event being photographed. The exhibition presents the artists’ views on the cultural heritage, traditions, and everyday life of people in both urban and rural settings, as well as the social context of both countries. The central focus of the photographs is the human being and their environment.
Opening the exhibition, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia, Darius Vitkauskas, expressed hope that the exhibition would further strengthen the bond between the people of Lithuania and Georgia, becoming another bridge connecting the two countries and encouraging greater interest in Lithuania among Georgians. He also emphasized the contributions of everyone involved in the project and expressed his sincere gratitude. “I wish the center and its staff strength and perseverance – do not give up or be discouraged by the challenges you face. ‘Art House’ in Gori is an important cultural space for the local community, for the development of the city and region, and for fostering an active civil society. You are young, intelligent, wise, bright, patriotic, and homeland-loving people – the future of Georgia is in your hands. Let me assure you – Lithuania and the Lithuanian people stand with the people of Georgia and support their aspirations to link the country’s future with the EU and NATO,” the ambassador emphasized.
