Statistics Lithuania: Lithuanian Exports to Georgia Rise to Pre-Crisis Levels
Export of Lithuanian goods and services to Georgia during the first half of 2010, as compared to the same period last year, has almost doubled and reached the precrisis level of 2008, the data published by the Statistics Department of Lithuania shows.During the first six months of this year, exports of goods and services from Lithuania to Georgia have amounted to 28.8 million litas (EUR8.3 million) – an increase by 92.7 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the first half of 2009 Lithuania exported to Georgia goods and services worth 14.9 million litas (EUR4.3 million), a significant drop from 26.7 million litas (EUR7.7 million) registered in 2008.
The total trade turnover between Lithuania and Georgia in the first half of 2010 amounted to 38.9 million litas (EUR11.3 million), which is 51.8 percent more than in 2009. During the corresponding period last year, this figure was 25.6 million litas (EUR7.4 million).
The largest categories of Lithuania's export to Georgia in the first half of this year were: computers and other office equipment (29.1%) postage stamps (15.8%), TV sets and other household appliances (14.1%), milk and milk products (8.5%), used cars (6.4%).
