Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania to Georgia

The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia would like to inform that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Mr. Gabrielius Landsbergis will be paying a bilateral visit to Georgia. The visit will begin on Tuesday, 27 April with the arrival of the Minister from Armenia and end on Thursday, 29 April, with the Minister departing for Azerbaijan.

In terms of the visit, the Minister will be meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Prime Minister of Georgia, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia and the President of Georgia. Meetings with opposition party and Non-Governmental Organizations representatives are also planned to take place.

The discussions will focus on bilateral Lithuanian – Georgian cooperation, Lithuania’s support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations and path as well as the implementation of the EU brokered agreement. The issues of regional security, preparation for upcoming Eastern Partnership summit and other relevant issues of international politics will also be addressed at the meetings.

During the visit, Mr. Landsbergis will also be visiting the Administrative Boundary Line with the occupied South Ossetia region together with the officials of the European Union Monitoring Mission to Georgia.

The Minister will conclude his visit with a press conference summarizing the results and answering questions posed by the media.
